To determine what you want means to give yourself permission to dream again—from the inside out. It’s about tuning out the noise of others' expectations and tuning in to your own values, desires, and truth. If you don’t decide what you want, life will decide for you.
Why It Matters
Many women spend years in roles and routines, fulfilling what’s expected—but rarely checking in on their own desires. This strategy invites you to reclaim your voice and rediscover what truly matters to you. Your wants are not selfish. They are sacred.
Create a "YES LIFE"!
Three Activities you may want to try
1. The Desire List (Invite others to join you, share lists and add their wishes to yours when you discover what you might want, too)
Set a timer for 5 minutes.
Write down as many wants or desires you have at this time ( please use paper and writing tool--not your computer, ipad, or phone}
Don’t edit or judge. Just write. Write fast to overcome your thinking brain.
Why it helps:?
It teases out hidden or suppressed desires by giving your pen free reign to write your thoughts.
2. Create a YES List
List the people, places, activities, and energies that make you feel strong, safe, creative, and joyful. And, who or want can help you move forward on your wants and desires.
This is your "YES Life." What fun, a "Yes List"!
Why it helps:
You start focusing on what you want for every aspect of your life....
3. Vision Through Imagery (fun in a group)
Use magazines or digital tools to create a vision board.
Tear out words, images, colors, anything that you resonate with--no judgement, just rip away
Focus not only on what you want to have—but how you want to feel and do.
Why it helps: You create a visual guide that motivates and keeps your focus on your "Yes Life"
Empowerment Affirmation-You might want to write this on your board
“I am free to want what I want. I honor my desires as the first step toward standing strong in who I am becoming.”
When you define what you want, you begin to honor your authentic self and create your "Yes Life"
This is how you Stand Up.This is how you Stand Tall. This is how you Stand Strong.
